Research direction:
Our team is responsible for the preservation of grape varieties, and is currently one of the most abundant nurseries in China. This group is mainly engaged in developing grapevine germplasm collection, precision evaluation, genetic mechanism of important traits, germplasm innovation and new variety breeding.

Representative Achievements:
1.Research on the examination, collection and evaluation of grapevine germplasm resources:
we focus on the collection of wild species and local varieties of grapes. Continuous multi-year evaluation of complex quantitative traits such as color, seedlessness, berry shape, and disease resistance of grapes germplasm, and discovery of excellent germplasm resources in important functional components. At the same time, genotype identification of important traits was carried out, and a database of grape phenotypes and genotypes was established.
2.Research on important gene discovery and molecular marker breeding:
we use multi-omics and hybrid populations to reveal QTLs for important traits such as seedless, red, and disease resistance, and using transcriptomic and metabolomic tools to analyze the molecular regulatory network for the formation of important quality traits and lay the theoretical foundation for grapevine quality breeding. To promote the practicalization of the grapevine molecular marker-assisted breeding technology platform.
3.Breeding of new varieties of high quality grapes:
we use of distant hybridization, embryo culture, molecularly assisted selection and other techniques to breed grape varieties; breeding of grapes germplasm with strong muscat and disease resistance. We have also developed 7 grape varieties with different resistance, colors and shapes, seedlessness,which are widely used in production.
